Leah grew up on a small farm in Centre County where she learned to love the outdoors. Upon graduation from high school, Leah served three years in the United States Army. Thereafter, Leah earned a B.S. degree in pre-law from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law. Leah’s legal career was spent as a career judicial clerk with the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. After living away from Centre County for over 35 years, Leah and her husband returned to Centre County. Leah began fly fishing after her retirement in 2015 and quickly learned to love being on the stream fishing with her husband and later with other women anglers. Upon retirement, Leah began using her legal experience to assist other veterans. She volunteered as a supervising attorney with the Penn State Law Veterans and Service members Legal Clinic for over 5 years and participated as a volunteer attorney in legal clinics offered to veterans by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Currently, Leah serves as a member of the Veterans Assistance Fund of Centre County which provides financial assistance to needy veterans or spouses of deceased veterans.
